This talk reviews the latest results on time-dependent CP asymmetries in b -> s q qbar 
processes from Belle and BaBar. These decays are dominated by the b -> s gluonic penguin 
transition and are sensitive to new CP-violating phases from physics beyond the standard 
model. The effective sin2phi1(beta) is determined and compared with the sin2phi1(beta) 
measured in b -> c cbar s tree process.
