The location of Worcester College relative to the main arrival points of Train and Bus Station is shown on the location map. Arrival at Oxford by Coach/Bus from London Airports will bring you to Gloucester Green Bus Station. Worcester College is a short (about 100 m) walk from the Bus Station. Leave the Bus Station at the opposite end of the Station from the Main Entrance on George Street where the Buses enter and leave.
Arrival by rail at Oxford Train Station involves a longer walk (about 800 m) or a short bus or taxi ride.
Arrival by car (not recommended!) should be notified to the Conference chairman by email at p.ewart@physics.ox.ac.uk who will arrange car parking. Please advise before Thursday 7 April if you are arriving by car. Park temporarily on the apron at the front of Worcester College and collect Welcome Pack and Room keys from the Porter's Lodge. Provided prior notice has been received access to the College Car Park will be granted. Please note that if you are allocated a room in the Canal Building (see map) it is advisable first to take your luggage by car via Worcester Place/Richmond Road/Nelson Street to the Canal Building. On Arrival
Please go to the Porter's Lodge at the Main Entrance to Worcester College. This entrance is at the junction of Worcester Street and Beaumont Street.
Inform the Porter that you are attending the ECONOS Conference. Collect a Welcome Pack and Room Key from the Porter who will direct you to your accommodation. The Welcome Pack includes a detailed map of the College grounds showing the location of all the accommodation.
Registration
Please note that you must also Register at the Conference Office between 1800 and 1900 on Sunday evening. The Conference Office is Room 4.1 in the main quadrangle of the College. A further opportunity for registration will be provided at 0800 on Monday morning.
Money
Please note that the UK currency is Sterling, GBP. Euros are not accepted for payment on buses, trains or anywhere! The College bar will be open during the evenings of the Conference but accepts only cash in British Currency. Credit Cards are not accepted in the bar.
Sunday programme
For those arriving on Saturday or early on Sunday an informal social programme will be provided. Anyone wishing to take part should meet at 3 pm at the Porter's Lodge of the College. A short tour of the College and Oxford will be provided.
Posters
Posters should be put up on Sunday evening or first thing Monday morning before the beginning of the conference.
Finally - a gentle reminder to all speakers to let me have their PowerPoint files by Wednesday 6 April. Please bring your own copy on CD or USB memory stick to the conference.
