Annual conference of the High Energy Particle Physics group of the Institute of Physics

Posters

Posters should not exceed size A0, portrait format.

Please ask at the registration desk when you register and you will be shown where to hang your poster. You will be provided with velcro stickers to attach your poster to the display boards. Posters will be exhibited in the foyer area throughout the conference.

 

Talks

Talk Format

The preferred format for talks  is PDF. You should make sure that all required non-standard fonts used in your presentation are embedded in your PDF file.

Powerpoint presentations are allowed, but discouraged. If you use a powerpoint presentation be advised that your fonts may not be available on the conference computers and your talk may not display correctly.

PPTX powerpoint presentations as produced by Microsoft office 2008 are not supported, please convert these to pdf or office 2003 PPT before submitting. The indico system will automatically convert PPT and DOC formats to PDF if requested, (PPTX files cannot be converted in this way).

Rooms

Each room will be equipped with a projector connected to a computer running Windows and a laser pointer. Transparencies should not be used.

Uploading Talks

Talks should be uploaded to the conference management system using your account for indico.cern.ch  (a CERN internal or external account). If you do not already have an indico  account you should have received email inviting you to register  after which  you will be able to upload your talk. If you do not have any sort of CERN internal/external account and have not received an email then please contact us.

Please upload your talk well in advance of your session. For morning talks please upload the previous evening. For afternoon talks please upload before 12:00 p.m. on the same day. Prior to your session, you should also check with the helpers in the room to make sure your file displays correctly.

Talk Duration

Parallel session talks are 15 minutes long INCLUDING time for discussion
(12 minutes talk + 3 minutes discussion).

Abstract Submission

Abstract submission for talks & posters is now closed.

Parallel sessions

 Talks will be split into the following parallel sessions:
- QCD & Electroweak
- Higgs
- Beyond the Standard Model
- Flavour Physics
- Neutrinos
- Double-beta decay and dark matter
- Detectors
- Future Facilities & Grid

Talks that do not fall into any of the above categories are also welcome.
