Obtaining Software Kits from the Local Server
Instructions for a Mac OS X System.
To access copies of software distribution kits on our local server from a Mac OS X system you may do one of the following.
(1) This recommended method should work through all of our standard firewalls.
Go to the main menu bar (which starts with Finder).
Click on "Go".
Select "Network"
Select "Physics".
Select "CSXP12".
Click "Connect".
Workgroup or Domain: physics
Name: username
Password: password
Click on "OK".
Select the share for the kit you want from the drop-down list e.g. OxKits_MATLAB .
Click "OK".
You will then see the MATLAB kits.
Select the kit you require and copy the complete kit into a local (temporary work) directory on a local disk on your Mac system.
(2) This method will not work through firewalls which block the SMB protocol.
Go to the main menu bar (which starts with Finder).
Click on "Go".
Select "Connect to server"
Type in: smb://CSXP12.physics.ox.ac.uk/
and then select "OxKits_MATLAB" from the list presented.
You will then be prompted for your Physics Windows network authentication details:
Domain: physics
Username: yourusername
Password: yourpassword
You will then see the MATLAB kits.
Select the kit you require and copy the complete kit into a local folder on your Mac system.
