Introduction
Applied
Cryodetectors is a Research Training Network funded by the European Commission's
5th Framework Improving
Human Potential programme. The network contract (HPRN-CT-2002-00322)
between the European Commission and the network participants started on 1st
November 2002 with a duration of 48 months. The network's research is on frontier applications of cyrogenic detectors to
astroparticle physics, material sciences, semiconductor industries, x-ray
fluorescence analysis, macro- molecule mass spectrometry and nuclear/sub-nuclear
physics. The activity of the network is highly multi-disciplinary, drawing from
expertise
in solid state physics, nuclear physics, cryogenics, astroparticle physics and
underpinning technology. Training will be provided in low
temperature physics, particle and nuclear physics, condensed matter physics,
superconducting electronics, cryo-technology, thin film deposition, VLSI
photolithography and advanced electronics.
