This web site provides an introduction to particle scattering, one of the most important experimental techniques for explaining the structure of matter.   It shows how the technique of deep inelastic scattering has revealed the most basic grains of matter, the quarks.  The site has been designed for people with some knowledge of physics (in particular A-Level students) and contains some further detail for those wishing to gain a deeper understanding.
