Abstract
Quantum Causal Orders have been shown to offer advantages in the execution of various tasks in quantum information, communication, and metrology. In this talk, I will propose a thermodynamic refrigeration cycle that uses indefinite causal orders to achieve nonclassical cooling. The cycle cools a cold reservoir while consuming purity in a control qubit. I will investigate the properties of the refrigeration cycle and show that thermodynamically, the result is compatible with unitary quantum mechanics in the circuit model but could not be achieved classically. In the second part of the talk, I will outline a simulation of this cycle, which is itself a quantum refrigerator, implemented on the cloud quantum computing platform IBM Quantum Experience.
