My research focuses on modes of variability found in the circulation of the stratosphere and how they link to other parts of the climate system. Recent work has looked at multi-decadal timescale oscillations in the polar vortex and its interactions with the North Atlantic climate system. My PhD is a part of the NERC funded DTP in environmental science.
Outside of my PhD, I work part time for the Oxford Covid Modelling Consortium developing software for modelling the spread of COVID-19. I've also conducted research estimating the undocumented spread of the virus in the absence of large scale, random testing.
Before my PhD, I gained an integrated masters in physics from the University of Edinburgh.
