Neville got his PhD in Elementary Particle Physics at Westfield College, University of London, in 1978. He was subsequently a Research Associate at the University of Michigan and a CERN Fellow between 1983 and 1986. He became Lecturer in Physics at Oxford in 1986 and later Professor. He was a Fellow at St Anne’s for over 30 years before retiring in 2022.
