Cross section and heavy quark composition of γ+μ events produced in pp̄ collisions
Physical Review D Particles Fields Gravitation and Cosmology 65:1 (2002) 120031-120037
Abstract:
We present a measurement of the cross section and the first measurement of the heavy flavor content of associated direct photon + muon events produced in hadronic collisions. These measurements come from a sample of 1.8 TeV pp̄ collisions recorded with the Collider Detector at Fermilab. Quantum chromodynamics (QCD) predicts that these events are primarily due to the Compton scattering process cg→cγ, with the final-state charm quark producing a muon. The cross section for events with a photon transverse momentum between 12 and 40 GeV/c is measured to be 46.8±6.3±7.5 pb, which is two standard deviations below the most recent theoretical calculation. A significant fraction of the events in the sample contain a final-state bottom quark. The ratio of charm to bottom production is measured to be 2.4±1.2, in good agreement with QCD models.Cross section for forward j/ψ production in pp collisions at √s=1.8 tev

The inclusive cross section for J/Ψ production times the branching ratio B(J/Ψ→μ + μ - ) has been measured in the forward pseudorapidity region: B×dσ[p - +p→J/Ψ(pFirst observation of B̄0→ D*0π+π+π-π -decays

Abstract:
We report on the observation of B̄0→D* 0π+π+π- π-decays. The branching ratio is (0.30±0.07 ±0.06)%. Interest in this particular mode was sparked by Ligeti, Luke and Wise who propose it as a way to check the validity of factorization tests in B̄0→D*+π+π -π-π0 decays. © 2001 The American Physical Society.Measurement of exclusive B decays to final states containing a charmed baryon

Abstract:
Using data collected by the CLEO detector in the γ(4S) region, we report new measurements of the exclusive decays of B mesons into final states of the type Λc+p̄n(π), where n= 0,1,2,3. We find signals in modes with one, two and three pions and an upper limit for the two-body decay Λc+p̄. We also make the first measurements of exclusive decays of B mesons to ∑cp̄n(π), where n = 0,1,2. We find signals in modes with one and two pions and an upper limit for the two-body decay ∑cp̄. Measurements of these modes shed light on the mechanisms involved in B decays to baryons. © 2002 The American Physical Society.Measurement of the B+total cross section and B+differential cross section dσ/dpTin pp̄ collisions at √s=1.8 TeV
