Abstract

The W boson mass is measured using 16.8 inverse fb of proton-proton collision data at a center of mass energy of 13 TeV, recorded by the CMS experiment during LHC Run 2.  The W boson mass is obtained from a fit to the three-dimensional distribution of muon transverse momentum, pseudorapidity and charge in a sample of W->mu nu decays, yielding one of the most precise measurements of the W mass to date.
