I am a second-year DPhil student working on the DarkSide-20k experiment, supervised by Professor Jocelyn Monroe.
DarkSide-20k is a direct dark matter detection experiment currently under construction at the Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso in Italy. Located 1.4 km beneath the Gran Sasso Massif, the experiment will search for interactions between dark matter particles and liquid argon using a dual-phase time projection chamber.
My first-year research focused on silicon photomultipliers, the photodetectors DarkSide-20k will use to detect the light produced by dark matter interactions in liquid argon.
My current research focuses on low-mass dark matter and on the modulation of dark matter signals caused by the motion of the Earth relative to the local Galactic dark matter halo.
