Don Grainger is a Principal investigators in the physics Department of the University of Oxford working in the natural sciences and mathematics
Grainger’s leadership of Oxford’s Earth Observation Data Group (EODG) has supported many researchers and collaborative advances such as the ORAC algorithm, developed with RAL-Space, the Deutscher Wetterdienst, and the Bureau of Meteorology. He has supervised 42 MPhys students, 22 PhD students, and 22 PDRAs, many of whom now hold positions in academia, national labs (NASA, Met Office, ESA), and industry. EODG maintains a gender-diverse environment, with 40% women—significantly higher than the 24% STEM average.
