Biography
Dr. Aonan Zhang is a UKRI Guarantee Marie Curie Fellow in the Department of Physics at University of Oxford. Previously, Dr. Zhang earned his Bachelor's degree and Ph.D. from Nanjing University. From 2022 to 2024, he worked as a Research Associate at Imperial College London. His research interests encompass photonic quantum information, quantum metrology and their applications, especially the interdisciplinary topics across quantum physics, optics and computer science.
He has received a variety of honors and awards, including the UKRI Guarantee Postdoctoral Fellowship (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowship), the Best Poster Award of the 69th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting, OSA Jean Bennett Memorial Scholarship, the SPIE Optics and Photonics Education Scholarship, the Wang Daheng Optics Award etc. He is also a Tutor in Physics at University College, an active Early Career Member of Optica and APS in disseminating knowledge of optics and quantum physics, organizing public engagements and hosting visiting lecturers, and an Editorial Board Member of New Journal of Physics.
