Black Hole

Lensing of space time around a black hole. At Oxford we study black holes observationally and theoretically on all size and time scales - it is some of our core work.

I am an Ernest Rutherford Fellow at the Sub-Department of Astrophysics.

I have been a Career Development Fellow at Christ Church since January 2023 and I was a Hintze Fellow at Oxford University since 2020. I did my undergraduate studies at the “Federico II” University of Naples, the city where I was born and grew up. In October 2009, I was awarded a Ubbo Emmius Scholarship at the Kapteyn Institute in Groningen, the Netherlands, where I obtained my PhD degree with the “cum laude” distinction, the best possible grade in the Netherlands.

In 2013 I became a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics (MPA) in Garching by Munich, Germany.

Finally, in 2017, I was awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Astrofit2 Fellowship at the INAF – Osservatorio Astronomico di Napoli (Naples, IT) which I spent at ESO, where I worked as associate with the Archive Science Group.
Since May 2020, I joined the University of Oxford as Hintze Research Fellow, working on galaxy formation and evolution.
