Many of our researchers give talks about their work in schools. These are most suitable for students with an interest in Physics in Years 10-13.
If you are interested in booking a talk please complete the attached booking form (see below) and return to schools.liaison@physics.ox.ac.uk. We will then add your request to a central database of requests which is shared with relevant researchers and other academics. If someone has availability, they will contact you directly to make arrangements.
Talks are on a variety of topics including:
- Cosmology and dark matter
- The LHC
- Climate change
- Space exploration and telescopes
- Planetary atmospheres
- Quantum physics
- Lasers
- Relativity
- Crystals
- Solar cells
Speakers availability increases at the beginning and end of school terms. Independent schools or schools situated a significant distance from the university may be asked to contribute to the speakers' expenses or partner with a neighbouring school to make the most from the visit.
