Abstract:
Parametric resonance is an exponential instability triggered by the periodical source whose frequency equals to twice of the intrinsic frequency of the system (speaking of the 1st instability band of Mathieu equation). In the first half part of my talk, in a pedagogical manner, I will introduce parametric resonance as well as some classical applications in cosmology. In the second part, I will introduce a novel mechanism of graviton-to-matter conversion, as well as the inverse process, via parametric resonance.
