Abstract
If you are considering attending this talk, then you are probably interested in sharing your research with the wider public. That is great! Perhaps you have already heard lots of excellent advice about how to do this. For example, that you must always “use plain English”, that you should "tailor your message to the audience”, or that you just need to “keep it simple”. But this can be easier said than done! How do you put this advice into practice?
My talk will highlight the stumbling blocks that many academics trip over when trying to share their work, and (hopefully) teach you how to implement well-known advice about science communication.
