Abstract

I will introduce the central concepts of the asymptotic safety paradigm, in particular discussing where the predictive power of the paradigm comes from. I will then review developments on asymptotically safe gravity-matter systems that are aimed at understanding whether the Standard Model of particle physics (potentially extended by a dark sector) may be asymptotically safe when coupled to quantum gravity. I will also highlight key open questions within the research field and point out future perspectives.
