Students who achieved a gold award in the BPhO Intermediate Challenge are invited to apply for the BPhO Year 12 Masterclass at the University of Oxford. 

This two-day event will give you an opportunity to sharpen your problem-solving abilities and practical skills, setting a strong foundation for your A-level studies and beyond. You will stay at St John’s College at the University of Oxford on Saturday evening and will eat in the college. This is an excellent opportunity for you to find out more about applying for and studying physics at The University of Oxford. 

This opportunity is open to all students who: 

* Achieved a gold award in the BPhO Intermediate Challenge

* Attended a state school for their GCSEs (or equivalent)

* Are starting A-levels in Physics and Maths in September

* Are curious about studying physics at University

All participants will be asked to complete a set of short problems on Issac Physics before the masterclass.  

How to apply 

Booking open, apply for a place here. If we are over-subscribed, we may prioritise students from under-represented backgrounds. We may also limit the number of participants attending from individual schools.

Application timeline: 

* The application deadline is 12noon on Mon 29 Jul 2024.

* We will inform you about the outcome of your application on Fri 2 Aug.

* You will then have until the Mon 19 Aug to confirm your place and complete a set of Isaac Physics problems.
