The Heisenberg quantum spin glass in 2 dimensions
I will report on our investigation of the spin glass phase of the spin-1/2, Heisenberg model with bond disorder on the square lattice at zero temperature. Numerical investigations were conducted using a novel method [1] for finding the ground state of relatively large systems (up to 200 spins) and validated using semiclassical expansion [2]. The properties of excitations are discussed in the semiclassical approximation as well [3].
