Florian Beutler - Cosmology with the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI)
Galaxy redshift surveys provide a large number of observables to constrain fundamental parameters of our universe. I will provide a general introduction to the concept of spectroscopic galaxy surveys as well as an overview of some of those observables, namely Baryon Acoustic Oscillations, Redshift-space distortions, Primordial non-Gaussianity, primordial features, the neutrino mass and relativistic effects. I will also discuss the first results of the year 1 analysis of DESI together with an outlook for the upcoming year 3 and year 5 analysis.
