Abstract

High energy neutrinos have now been detected from the colliding beams at the LHC by the FASER & SND detectors. There is a rich programme of  physics possible at the proposed FPF which is directly relevant to astroparticle experiments like IceCube & the Pierre Auger Observatory. I will discuss relevant topics such as neutrino interactions, forward charm and light hadron production and searches for new particles beyond-the-Standard-Model (emphasising the intellectual continuity with experiments done 40+ years ago at the CERN beam dump by people in this department).
