Professor Daniela Bortoletto has been named one of a team of principal investigators (PI) spearheading the brand new International Centre for Quantum-field Measurement Systems of Studies of the Universe and Particles (QUP). The international research centre will integrate particle physics, astrophysics, condensed matter physics, measurement science, and systems science to develop new systems for measuring quantum fields.

‘QUP will break national boundaries and accelerate the development of novel instruments for measuring quantum fields,’ comments Professor Bortoletto. ‘I am excited to start the discovery voyage with this talented team.’

QUP is being hosted by Japan’s High Energy Accelerator Research Organisation, KEK, and will be directed by Professor Masashi Hazumi from KEK’s Institute of Particle and Nuclear Studies.
