Welcome Fatima Pillosu

Please join me in welcoming Fatima Pillosu, who started with us this week. She will be working  with Fenwick, Shruti and Matt on calibrating rainfall forecast for East Africa.

Here's a short intro from Fatima: 

"After graduating in Civil Engineering from the University of Cagliari, I joined ECMWF’s EFAS team in 2016, contributing to the development and operationalisation of ecPoint rainfall forecasts and completing a PhD at the University of Reading on flash flood forecasting. Recently, I began a part-time postdoc at Reading University, applying machine learning to predict discharge from water level measurements in Ireland. I am excited to join now also Antje’s group to evaluate ecPoint forecasts in Africa and look forward to collaborating with the team."
