          Title: Dense active matter
Abstract: Active matter remains a growing research area, where theory and experiments can fruitfully interact. Motivated by active matter systems, there is also a general interest to understand at a fundamental level how to treat active forces that drive physical systems far from
equilibrium. In recent years, I have followed this trend for dense particle systems which can form jammed or glassy materials and can be dramatically affected by active forces. I will motivate and then present some simple examples of active matter systems where activity introduces exciting new nonequilibrium physics.
