Join us for two online webinars where you can meet and talk to real astrophysicists and get stuck into some real research. We will be joined by Professor Chris Lintott, researcher, author, TV presenter and founder of Zooniverse.

Who is this for?
These webinars are open to all young people between the ages of 9 and 12* and are particularly suitable for young people who are curious about all things space, galaxy and science-related.

Background
The event is hosted by Zooniverse in Schools, an exciting project that gets pupils involved in real research and has reached almost 1500 pupils in schools across the UK. We want to give even more young people the chance to get involved and so we are moving online.
Format
There are two webinars held a week a part, and in between you can do you own galaxy investigations.
In the first webinar, we will be joined by Professor Chris Lintott and will introduce the young people to the world of galaxy research through discussions, quizzes and online activities using the Galaxy Zoo platform. At the end of this session we will share activities for the week ahead which will provide an insight into how research scientists move from pictures of galaxies to answering questions about them, and start participants on the journey to doing just that with their own observations.
In the second session we will move over to the I’m a Scientist platform to host a live text chat with Chris and a group of other astrophysicists who will answer everyone’s galaxy and space questions. Participants are encouraged to upload and share their work from the week and to ask questions about it as well as all of their other questions about galaxies, space and the people who study it.
