You are invited to bring 12-15 girls in Years 8 or 9 to the event.

About the day: Marie Curious is a free one-day science event for girls aged 12-14, run by the Department of Physics. The event aims to build confidence in girls with an interest in science and fuel a passion for continuing to pursue STEM subjects at a higher level. It's a busy day that begins with a quick introduction before participants have the opportunity to join three 40-minute, hands-on workshops all about science, technology, engineering or maths. The workshops are run by passionate role-models from a variety of fields. The workshops are followed by a lively Q&A session with leading scientists from all stages in their careers, ready to answer questions. The day concludes with an interactive science show.

Audience: Girls in Y8-9. Schools should expect to bring groups of 12-15 girls who haven't previously attended the event. We would particularly encourage you to bring those girls who would most benefit from the experience of meeting successful women in science and getting hands-on with experiments.
