Join us to celebrate Henry Moseley and his connection to the department of Physics and Trinity College.

12.00 for 12.30 Buffet Lunch and Moseley portrait unveiling, Beecroft Foyer, Department of Physics.

1.30 pm Moseley Symposium, Martin Wood lecture theatre, Department of Physics.

This special symposium will explore the relationship between physics and technology at the beginning of the 20th century. We shall discuss the life and work of Henry Moseley alongside that of another scientist who made a significant impact on the world as a very young man, Guglielmo Marconi. With special guest speaker Principessa Elettra Marconi, and Dr Alan Roth, Royal Society Entrepreneur in Residence, University of Oxford.

There are a few other things happening on that day, please let us know in the registration form if you are interested to attend any other section, and we will forward to the organisers of those.

•       A specially commissioned musical installation based around the physics of iron oxide
•       Moseley exhibition, Trinity College.
•       Portrait unveiling Department of Physics.
•       Dedication of the gate at Trinity College and short talks.
•       Lunch with special guest Elettra Marconi.
•       Special presentation by the Nobel Foundation.
•       Dinner at Trinity College with presentation of Moseley Prize.

Members of the Henry Moseley Circle will be invited on first instance, as we have very limited places available. We may extend the invite to all alumni on a first come, first served basis, if we can. Email us if you are a physics alumni member and are interested to attend.
