Abstract

Understanding the nature of neutrinos is one of the key questions in particle physics. In this talk I will report on recent results from our work to search for neutrinoless double beta decay and probe the nature of neutrino mass with the CUORE and CUPID experiments. I will also discuss the vision for US particle physics as described in our recent report of the Particle Physics Project Prioritization Panel (P5).

About the speaker:

Karsten Heeger is the Eugene Higgins Professor of Physics at Yale University,  where he also serves as both chair of the Yale Department of Physics and director of Wright Laboratory. His work is primarily in neutrino physics and dark matter.  In 2022 he was appointed deputy chair of the DOE/NSF Particle Physics Project Prioritization Panel, P5.  Karsten graduated with a BA in Physics from Oxford in 1995.
