This British Physics Olympiad event is being ran in collaboration with the Oxford physics outreach team. It provides girls in year 10 with an opportunity to discuss physics ideas, develop problem solving skills and build their community of likeminded individuals at all stages of their STEM journeys.
Specifically the day will include:
- A problem-solving workshop
- Flash talks about areas of current physics research
- Practical experiments and demonstrations
- Information about careers in physics
This is an in-person event in the Oxford University physics department. The event is free to attend and lunch and refreshments will be provided thanks to the generosity of the BPhO sponsor, G-Research . Students must make their own way to and from the event and we are, unfortunately, unable to provide assistance with transport costs.
What is the event and who is it for?
If you are in Year 10 (or equivalent), identify as female or from an under-represented gender in physics, and you are interested in physics then this event is for you! If the event becomes over-subscribed, we will prioritise students from under-represented backgrounds.
Young people will attend the event on their own.

Yes, you need to register in advance for this event. The deadline for registration is 23:59 on Sunday the 15th February 2026.
