Abstract

The existence of an electric dipole moment (EDM) for the electron is a signal of CP violation. The SM predicts that there is a tiny, but non-zero EDM because of the CP violation by the weak interaction. On the other hand, some well-motivated theories beyond the SM generically include new CP violating interactions that may lead to an observable EDM for the electron. In this talk I will discuss how ACME looks for the electron EDM, and how they set the strongest constrain to this parameter.
