Physics: from the lab into your life

After being closed for more than 18 months due to COVID-19, in June the Department of Physics opened up its labs again to the public and welcomed members of the community back into the Department.

Visitors to the open evening were able to take advantage of unique lab tours and have the opportunity to get hands-on with the wide range of research that is carried out in the department. Researchers talked about their cutting-edge work in the areas of solar cells, biophysics, accelerator science, climate science, quantum computing and dark skies tourism - research that ulitmately impacts the way we live our lives.

We plan to run the event again next year and you can receive notifications about Physics: Lab to Life and all other public events by joining our public mailing list.
