Teaching

At the University of Namibia, Dr Backes predominantly teaches 4th year undergraduate (Advanced Electrodynamics, Astrophysics, also Optics) and MSc courses (Astro- & Space Physics, Research Methodology) and is the departmental coordinator for undergraduate projects as well as postgraduate studies. Further, he supervises BSc(Hons), MSc, and PhD project students at the University of Namibia and at the Centre for Space Research, North-West University, Potchefstroom (South Africa).
