My research consists of measurements and searches to test the Electroweak force and the generation of particle masses via the Higgs mechanism in the Standard Model. The mass of the Higgs boson receives large quantum corrections and its relatively low value suggests the existence of yet-undiscovered particles that could be produced by the LHC.
After performing detailed measurements of the W boson mass and of Higgs-boson decays to W-boson pairs, I have recently started analysing the production of tau-lepton pairs in association with b-quarks at ATLAS. The measurement is sensitive to hypothetical new particles that can explain anomalous measurements by the LHCb and Belle experiments.
