I joined the Department of Physics in December 2022 as a grants officer, having gained previous experience both in finance and grants administration in the 8 years prior at the Department of Earth Sciences. Before joining the University, I worked in finance roles in various sectors (brewing, formula one and furniture manufacturing) and studied accountancy (ACCA) prior to family life taking over.
I am currently seconded (40% FTE) as a project portfolio manager, working with PI's in Atomic and Laser Physics. I am enjoying gaining further experience and widening my skill set.
Along side my physics role, I am mum to 3, a competitive swimming coach for a local club, enjoy exploring new areas on 2 wheels as a keen (albeit quite slow) cyclist, walking with my 2 dogs, sing (not very tunefully) with a local choir and spending time with family and friends.
