CERN CLIC accelerator, CLEAR research group

CLIC (Compact Linear Collider) technology has many applications to modern medical accelerator physics, allowing previously inaccessible particle energies to be reached with significantly reduced volume.

DPhil Candidate (DPhil, 2nd year).

I work with Prof. Manjit Dosanjh on the STELLA project (Smart Technology to Extend Lives with Linear Accelerators) in conjunction with a small team at CERN to develop LINAC radiotherapy units for lower/middle-income countries using AI and machine learning. In my Master's project I researched magnet design for very-high energy electron radiotherapy as part of the CLEAR group at CERN, and helped to develop a new design of toroidal quadrupole magnet.

Outside of academia I enjoy sport, and am an active member of the university cross-country (OUCCC) and athletics (OUAC) teams as well as being the current president of the orienteering club (OUOC), with which I compete internationally all over Europe.
