Natalie is a postdoctoral researcher in the Earth Observation Data Group in satellite imager retrievals of volcanic and hydrometeor clouds. She will be using the Optimal Retrieval of Aerosol and Cloud (ORAC) satellite algorithm to separately look at the 2022 Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apnai eruption, and cloud/aerosol retrievals over Greenland.

Previously she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany. She completed her PhD at the University of Reading in the Department of Meteorology, and gained her undergraduate and masters degrees from the University of Leeds. Her work has focused on mineral dust in the atmosphere, and specifically the long-range transport of coarse dust particles during her PhD and first postdoctoral position.

She is currently an editorial board member for the new Springer Nature journal, Discover Earth Observation.
