The radio galaxy 3C31, observed with LOFAR, is shown in red on top of an optical image.

The radio galaxy 3C31, observed with LOFAR by Heesen et al (2018), is shown in red on top of an optical image. LOFAR reveals the radio galaxy to be more than 3 million light years in size.

I am currently a postdoctoral research assistant at University of Oxford working with Prof. Matt Jarvis.

I aim to understand the interplay between different building blocks in galaxy evolution across cosmic times, including AGN jet, star formation, and the cold gas reservoir that fuels these activities. This can be done through advanced statistical tools that identify patterns buried in noisy datasets. I work with multi-wavelength data from (including but not limited to) LOFAR, WEAVE, and Euclid.

I obtained my PhD from the University of Edinburgh in 2025, under the supervision of Prof. Philip Best, Dr. Ken Duncan, and Prof. Huub Röttgering. Prior to that, I obtained my MSc from Leiden University (2021) and BSc from Peking University (2019).

Research interests include:

  • Radio emission in dusty quasars
  • Black hole jet powering mechanism
  • Hosts and environments of radio AGNs, cosmic evolution of AGN feedback
  • Bayesian inference, statistical models, MCMC method
