Search for high-mass resonances decaying into τ-lepton pairs in pp collisions at √ s = 7TeV

Abstract:
A search for high-mass resonances decaying into τ +τ - is performed using a data sample of pp collisions at s=7TeV. The data were collected with the CMS detector at the LHC and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 4.9 fb -1. The number of observed events is in agreement with the standard model prediction. An upper limit on the product of the resonance cross section and branching fraction into τ-lepton pairs is calculated as a function of the resonance mass. Using the sequential standard model resonance ZSSM' and the superstring-inspired E 6 model with resonance Zψ' as benchmarks, resonances with standard model couplings with masses below 1.4 and 1.1 TeV, respectively, are excluded at 95% confidence level. © 2012 CERN.Evidence for associated production of a single top quark and W boson in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV

Search for second generation scalar leptoquarks in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV with the ATLAS detector

Abstract:
The results of a search for the production of second generation scalar leptoquarks are presented for final states consisting of either two muons and at least two jets or a muon plus missing transverse momentum and at least two jets. A total of 1.03 fb−1 integrated luminosity of protonproton collision data produced by the Large Hadron Collider at √s = 7 TeV and recorded by the ATLAS detector is used for the search. The event yields in the signal regions are found to be consistent with the Standard Model background expectations. The production of second generation leptoquarks is excluded for a leptoquark mass mMeasurement of the difference in CP-violating asymmetries in D0→K +K- and D0→π+π- decays at CDF

Abstract:
We report a measurement of the difference (ΔACP) between time-integrated CP-violating asymmetries in D0→K+K- and D0→π+π- decays reconstructed in the full data set of proton-antiproton collisions collected by the Collider Detector at Fermilab, corresponding to 9.7fb-1 of integrated luminosity. The strong decay D*+→D0π+ is used to identify the charm meson at production as D0 or D̄0. We measure ΔACP=[-0.62±0.21(stat)±0.10(syst)]%, which differs from zero by 2.7 Gaussian standard deviations. This result supports similar evidence for CP violation in charm-quark decays obtained in proton-proton collisions. © 2012 American Physical Society.Measurement of the top-quark mass in t t-bar events with dilepton final states in pp collisions at sqrt(s)=7 TeV
