Search for chargino-neutralino production in pp̄ collisions at s=1.96TeV with high-pT leptons

Abstract:
We present a search for the associated production of charginos and neutralinos in pp̄ collisions at s=1.96TeV. The data were collected at the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF II) and correspond to integrated luminosities between 0.7 and 1.0fb-1. We look for final states with one high-pT electron or muon, and two additional leptons. Our results are consistent with the standard model expectations, and we set limits on the cross section as a function of the chargino mass in three different supersymmetric scenarios. For a specific minimal supersymmetric standard model scenario with no slepton mixing, we set a 95% C.L. limit at 151GeV/c2. © 2008 The American Physical Society.Search for squarks and gluinos in events with jets and missing transverse energy using 2.1 fb-1 of p over(p, ̄) collision data at sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV

Abstract:
A data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.1 fb-1 collected by the DØ detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider was analyzed to search for squarks and gluinos produced in p over(p, ̄) collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. No evidence for the production of such particles was observed in topologies involving jets and missing transverse energy, and 95% C.L. lower limits of 379 GeV and 308 GeV were set on the squark and gluino masses, respectively, within the framework of minimal supergravity with tan β = 3, A0 = 0, and μ < 0. The corresponding previous limits are improved by 54 GeV and 67 GeV. © 2008 Elsevier B.V. Abstract:
Measurements of the double-differential π± production cross-section in the range of momentum 100 MeV/c p<∈800 MeV/c and angle 0.35 rad∈ θ<∈ 2.15 rad in proton-beryllium, proton-aluminium and proton-lead collisions are presented. The data were taken with the HARP detector in the T9 beam line of the CERN PS. The pions were produced by proton beams in a momentum range from 3 GeV/c to 12.9 GeV/c hitting a target with a thickness of 5% of a nuclear interaction length. The tracking and identification of the produced particles was performed using a small-radius cylindrical time projection chamber (TPC) placed inside a solenoidal magnet. Incident particles were identified by an elaborate system of beam detectors. Results are obtained for the double-differential cross-sections d2σ/dpdθ at six incident proton beam momenta (3 GeV/c, 5 GeV/c, 8 GeV/c, 8.9 GeV/c (Be only), 12 GeV/c and 12.9 GeV/c (Al only)) and compared to previously available data. © 2008 Springer-Verlag / Società Italiana di Fisica.The T2K Experiment
