Black Hole

Lensing of space time around a black hole. At Oxford we study black holes observationally and theoretically on all size and time scales - it is some of our core work.

  • About

I did my undergrad degree in Astrophysics at UCL, where for my MSci project I studied the redshift evolution of galaxy clustering statistics using data from Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey. As a DPhil student, I am working with Prof. Lance Miller and Dr Chris Duncan on preparations for the weak gravitational lensing measurements that will be conducted by the ESA's Euclid mission. I am interested in systematic effects which hinder weak lensing measurements, in particular observational systematics such as those introduced due to incomplete knowledge of the telescope point spread function (PSF), and how these impact the cosmological information that can be extracted from photometric galaxy surveys.
