Three dimensional Raman cooling of cesium in a crossed dipole trap
Technical Digest - European Quantum Electronics Conference (1996) 207
Abstract:
A new cooling scheme is proposed which combines a dipole force trap with velocity selective Raman pulses. Cesium atoms were prepared in a cell magnetooptical trap. In the center of the trap, a crossed dipole force trap 80 ms before the extinction of the MOT is established. It consists of two intersecting laser beams having a power of 7 W. The Raman pulse sequence, consisting of several 100 Blackman or square pulses, was applied. Simulated amplification of the population of the individual levels caused by the Bose statistics factor was then expected.Kohärente optische Phänomene bei Anregung kleiner Moleküle mit Nanosekunden-Pulsen
