Duncan Lyster is a DPhil student at Oxford researching the thermal environments of airless planetary bodies, including Saturn’s icy moons and asteroids observed by NASA’s Lucy mission. His work involves thermophysical modelling, spacecraft data analysis, and instrument calibration, with a focus on supporting planetary exploration through both theory and operations. He holds a First Class MPhys in Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Exeter. Alongside his academic work, Duncan founded Lyster Surfcraft Ltd, blending technical design with hands-on craftsmanship. Outside the lab, he balances research with surfing, running, and salsa dancing.
