My DPhil
I started my DPhil in 2022, supervised by Antje Weisheimer and Tim Woollings.
I am investigating the variation in hindcast skill over the 20th century due to natural variability and/or external forcings. This includes looking at the skill at predicting ENSO spatial patterns in CSF-20C, analysing non-stationarity of teleconnections, and looking at the role of aerosol forcing and greenhouse gas forcing in determining seasonal forecast skill. This will hopefully contribute to improved seasonal forecasts in the future. As part of my DPhil, I am currently the Principal Investigator on the ECMWF Special Project "Investigating multi-decadal climate variations in seasonal forecasts: The role of aerosol and greenhouse gas forcings". Full details available on the ECMWF website.
AFRY are CASE partners for my DPhil project. I will be undertaking an internship with them from September 2023 to December 2023.
I am also a Science Engagement Fellow at the Royal Meteorological Society, focusing on the energy sector.
