I am the Programme Director of the Oxford Quantum Institute (OQI) which brings together researchers from across departments and divisions to accelerate the development and application of quantum science and technology.
The OQI will build on Oxford's strengths and create the diverse community required to apply these new capabilities to global challenges. With more than 60 research groups involved in quantum science and technology across the University, it makes Oxford one of the most diverse and significant groupings in the UK. An interdisciplinary approach will build on the existing collective strengths to maximise capability and push forward the boundaries of both discovery science and new technology, as well as to deliver global impact through innovation and sound policy.
I have a background in Knowledge Exchange and Impact management, at the University of Cambridge and Bournemouth University, including establishing the award-winning UK Knowledge Exchange Hub for Mathematical Sciences. I have experience in industry (primarily IR-UV laser optics), scientific museum management and programme development, and science journalism.
