Measurement of the inclusive jet cross section in pp̄ interactions at s=1.96TeV using a cone-based jet algorithm
Physical Review D - Particles, Fields, Gravitation and Cosmology 74:7 (2006)
Abstract:
We present a measurement of the inclusive jet cross section in pp̄ interactions at s=1.96TeV using 385pb-1 of data collected with the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. The results are obtained using an improved cone-based jet algorithm (Midpoint). The data cover the jet transverse momentum range from 61 to 620GeV/c, extending the reach by almost 150GeV/c compared with previous measurements at the Tevatron. The results are in good agreement with next-to-leading order perturbative QCD predictions using the CTEQ6.1M parton distribution functions. © 2006 The American Physical Society.Search for large extra dimensions in the production of jets and missing transverse energy in pp̄ collisions at s=1.96TeV

Abstract:
We present the results of a search for new physics in the jets plus missing transverse energy data sample collected from 368pb-1 of pp̄ collisions at s=1.96TeV recorded by the Collider Detector at Fermilab. We compare the number of events observed in the data with a data-based estimate of the standard model backgrounds contributing to this signature. We observe no significant excess of events, and we interpret this null result in terms of lower limits on the fundamental Planck scale for a large extra dimensions scenario. © 2006 The American Physical Society.RXTE observations of the first transient Z source XTE J1701-462: shedding new light on mass accretion in luminous neutron star LMXBs
