Search for supersymmetry in pp collisions at √s=7TeV in final states with missing transverse momentum and b-jets with the ATLAS detector
Physical Review D - Particles, Fields, Gravitation and Cosmology 85:11 (2012)
Abstract:
The results of a search for supersymmetry in events with large missing transverse momentum and heavy-flavor jets using an integrated luminosity corresponding to 2.05fb-1 of pp collisions at √s=7TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider are reported. No significant excess is observed with respect to the prediction for standard model processes. Results are interpreted in a variety of R-parity conserving models in which scalar bottoms and tops are the only scalar quarks to appear in the gluino decay cascade, and in an SO(10) model framework. Gluino masses up to 600-900GeV are excluded, depending on the model considered. © 2012 CERN. Published by the American Physical Society.Amplitude analysis of D0→K +K -π +π -
Physical Review D - Particles, Fields, Gravitation and Cosmology 85:12 (2012)
Abstract:
The first flavor-tagged amplitude analysis of the decay D0 to the self-conjugate final state K +K -π +π - is presented. Approximately 3000 signal decays are selected from data acquired by the CLEO II.V, CLEO III, and CLEO-c detectors. The three most significant amplitudes, which contribute to the model that best fits the data, are ρ0, K 1(1270) ±K, and nonresonant K +K -π +π -. Separate amplitude analyses of D0 and D ̄0 candidates indicate no CP violation among the amplitudes at the level of 5% to 30% depending on the mode. In addition, the sensitivity to the CP-violating parameter γ/ 3 from a sample of 2000 B +→D0(K +K -π +π -)K + decays, where D is a D0 or D ̄0, collected at LHCb or a future flavor facility, is estimated to be (11.3±0.3)° using the favored model. © 2012 American Physical Society.Search for lepton flavour violation in the eμ continuum with the ATLAS detector in √s = 7 TeV pp collisions at the LHC

Abstract:
This paper presents a search for the t-channel exchange of an R-parity violating scalar top quark (t) in the e±μ∓ continuum using 2.1 fb−1 of data collected by the ATLAS detector in √s = 7 TeV pp collisions at the Large Hadron Collider. Data are found to be consistent with the expectation from the Standard Model backgrounds. Limits on R-parity-violating couplings at 95 % C.L. are calculated as a function of the scalar top mass (mt). The upper limits on the production cross section for pp→eμX, through the t-channel exchange of a scalar top quark, ranges from 170 fb for mt = 95 GeV to 30 fb for mt = 1000 GeV.Measurement of the WW cross section in √s=7 TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector and limits on anomalous gauge couplings

Abstract:
This Letter reports a measurement of the WW production cross section in √s=7 TeV pp collisions using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.02 fb-1 collected with the ATLAS detector. Using leptonic decays of oppositely charged W bosons, the total measured cross section is σ(pp→WW)=54.4±4.0(stat.)±3.9(syst.)±2.0(lumi.) pb, consistent with the Standard Model prediction of σ(pp→WW)=44.4±2.8 pb. Limits on anomalous electroweak triple-gauge couplings are extracted from a fit to the transverse-momentum distribution of the leading charged lepton in the event. © 2012 CERN.Measurement of the WW cross section in √s=7 TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector and limits on anomalous gauge couplings
