In the third year the BA and MPhys courses diverge.
Eight modules are offered:
- fluids
- symmetry and relativity
- atomic and laser physics
- nuclear and particle physics (core)
- general relativity
- condensed matter physics (core)
- computational project
- experimental project
Students must take the two core papers and then choose additional modules. They also undertake practical work and students can carry out either a group project or an individual experimental or computational project. Physics students will also take a short option.
Third year exams (part B)
BA and MPhys students will take two core papers, a short option, a mini project and complete practical work. BA students will take either three additional papers/projects from the above list or one additional paper together with an industrial project; MPhys students will take three additional papers/projects from the above list.
