About me
I am a research group leader at the Petawatt Physics Laboratory (PULSE) of the Centre for Advanced Laser Applications in Munich, Germany. As a visitor at the atomic and laser physics section, I am working together with the laser fusion and extreme field physics group led by Prof. Peter Norreys on the development of a novel hyperspectral phase detector. In this context I also act as co-supervisor for Mr. Sunny Howard's PhD.
Research Interests
I am interested in extreme light-matter interactions and have worked for a decade on laser-plasma acceleration and secondary radiation sources. My group is investigating data-driven approaches to laser-plasma physics, among others using Bayesian optimization and deep compressed sensing for advanced control and characterization. See our recent review paper for more information on this rapidly evolving research field.
